Journal 11: Is Brutus the "noblest Roman of them all?" Provide at least three reasons justifying your opinion.
I think Brutus was the noblest Roman of them all because he realized how there was a problem with Caesars ambition and he was the person that did something about it. He was willing to go against the whole republic rather than to see it fall. He was willing to kill his best friend because he loved Rome more and did not want to see the people become worthless and Caesars slaves. He eventually found out that he was becoming a problem for the people and was willing to take his own life by running into the same sword that killed Caesar also because he would never want to see the day that the great roman republic would become an empire.

Considering everything we know about Brutus and the body count already, do you think Brutus will commit suicide, too? Why is suicide a difficult decision for Brutus?

Yes I think Brutus will commit suicide because i was on sparknotes and It said something about Brutus committing suicide. Also he is not that of a honorable man so he will most likely not want to be humiliated by Antony so he will commit suicide.

Why does Brutus’s speech in Scene ii ultimately fail?
His speech ultimately fails because Antony makes a better speech was better and really touches their hearts and makes them feel bad for him and it makes him look good as if he cared for the republic and for caesar equally. He used pathos. He had the crowd in the palm of his hand after he told them about Caesars will.

JOURNAL 7 3/2/2011 Did Caesar have to die? Who is most responsible for Caesar’s death? Caesar or the Conspirators…Give me proof answering why- 10 sentences
I think that Caesar had to die because he was gaining to much power and when people gain to much power they get out of control. Caesar was becoming to greedy and put off a really good act pretending to faint. He knew if he "fainted" he could convince people that he was not really after power or becoming a dictator. He knew he could gain power easily if he waited and then once he did the people could not do anything about it.

JOURNAL 7 3/2/2011 Did Caesar have to die? Who is most responsible for Caesar’s death? Caesar or the Conspirators…Give me proof answering why- 10 sentences
I think that Caesar needed to die to save the republic of Rome because when people become to powerful they are not themselves. He had to be killed because if he did not the Republic would become an Empire, but first the empire would fall. Caesar might have been strong and able to resist the crown 3 times but after the first time he hesitated and then he fainted. He could not resist power for much longer. Brutus did the right thing in killing him because if he did not the Republic would fall and become an Empire.
